Gay Gordon
Gay Gordon (1954-2006) was a Scottish bagpiper-cum-singer/songwriter whose updated arrangements of traditional Scottish, Welsh and Irish traditional music captured attention at weddings, bar mitzvahs and funerals throughout the UK in the 1970s and 80s, leading to the recording of his only album, "Cosmic Celtic Considerations the Gay Gordon Way," from which "Auld Ang Syne" peaked at #3 on the UK chart during the month of December, 1986. After Gordon's untimely death from a head injury sustained in a bicycle fall in Edinburgh in 2006, "Auld Ang Syne" has since become a UK classic Christmas song throughout the UK.
